What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This article missed a major tip. Establish one person in a non-disaster area to contact other family and friends so you are not having to make 50 phone calls and tie up lines that other people could use.

[Land line may work even if the electricity goes out, since they're powered through the phone line itself...]. YES, but only with an old fashion phone that is connected directly on the phone plug. "Modern" phones with answering machine, cordless phones etc. are not working when the electricity goes out, since these "modern" phones need to be powered and connected to the 110-120 V AC outlet... (for cordless phone: the base station connected to the land line needs to be powered with 110-120 V AC, it is not enough to have fully charged batteries in the cordless phone itself).
So, keep on old fashion phone handy for emergency situations, unplug your "modern" phone and replace it by the old one (or plug your old one in an unused plug).
